Cycling Concepts Racing Team

We’re excited to announce the formation of a new women’s racing team here at Cycling Concepts. And, we’re proud of their skills, accomplishments and especially their mission – to encourage and develop all cyclists to reach their own highest level of cycling ability.

History: Cycling Concepts Racing Team was formed in January of 2010 to encourage and develop cyclists to reach their own highest level of cycling ability.

The members of the team share common goals and expectations:

  • To function as a cohesive racing team
  • To aid in the development of riding skills, training and upgrading our fellow members.
  • To have team members work to achieve the highest category of competition.
  • To promote our shop in a professional manner with the highest level of conduct at all times.

Amanda Bedard

  • Cat 4, Cyclo Cross
  • Number of Years Racing: 5
  • Goal: “To improve on her personal best times on the hillclimbs and place top 3 in cyclocross races”

Donna Davis

  • Cat 4, Masters 45+
  • Number of Years Racing: 8
  • Goal: “To Help Develop Another Women’s Team in the Area”

Patty Faerber

  • Cat 4 Road
  • Number of Years Racing: 3
  • Goal: “Place well in Cat-4 road; do a Crit; Mountain Bike Race”

Karen Franzen (Team Leader)

  • Goal: “Develop women’s racing in this area, encourage people to ride safely and confidently in any and all conditions”

Mary Lynn G. Hadix

  • Goal: “Keep up with the Cycling Concepts ladies on the road”

Christine Poulin

  • Goal: “Learn more about the sport, become a better cyclist, place well & have fun!”

  • Goal: “Master the skills of road cycling and racing, and become a more efficient rider”

  • Goal: “Increase the visibility and viability of cycling in Connecticut”

Daria Vander Veer

  • Goal: “Upgrade to Cat 3 (and have fun doing it)”

  • Goal: “Establish Basic Crit Racing Skills. Improve my TT time at ExpoWheelman. Try different types of racing (MTB/Track/Cyclocross)”
